Who killed the blue bird? This news may be a big shock for loyal users of Twitter.
One of the most popular social media Twitter, which has kept its name for more than a decade, now it has been renamed to “X”. Elon Musk announced that he wants to rebrand the company with a new logo and planning to transform its business model to a multi-functional application like WeChat.
He was inspired by the success of other social media applications that have already run for multiple platforms such as WeChat and Moj. WeChat started as a social media and chat application like Twitter and developed into a multi-platform application and more than 1 billion users around the world. Musk wants to follow the journey that WeChat walked through.
But Why “X”
The main image represents the main page of Twitter with the new logo which is a big white X-shaped logo. People may wonder if the “X” letter means anything or imply on his business idea. People guess that it is because of Musk’s affection to the letter “X”. He has already made lots of names as “X” on many things that he loves such as his family and other companies that he owns such as SpaceX. It looks like we need to call “tweets” as “Xs” from now.
Is it a Good or Bad Decision
Some people may have thought that Musk would make a big change on Twitter since he acquired the company last October 27, 2022. Transforming into a new brand with a new business model could mean that it can be improved a lot but it also can be endangered as well. It can be a revolutionary decision to utilize the application as a broader business model with more company profit.
